For over 25 years as the Publisher of the Kansas City Business Journal, Joyce has had a chair at the table for Kansas City's most important business, civic and philanthropic efforts and events. Her strong and extensive relationships throughout the community have been built on the principle: Doing the right thing in the right way.

Joyce has served on numerous boards including The Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, Boys & Girls Clubs of Kansas City, Starlight Theater, The Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault (MOCSA), Kansas City Area Development Council (KCADC), and the Advancement Board of the University of Kansas Academic Medical Center.

Alana is a speaker, workshop facilitator, coach and author of the book, Coffee Lunch Coffee: A Practical Field Guide for Master Networking. Her passion is connecting with others and helping people get involved in their community, build social relationships and advance their careers.

Alana is the former President of Kauffman FastTrac, a global provider of training to aspiring and growth-oriented entrepreneurs. She is a contributor to Forbes.com, The Huffington Post and CNBC. She serves on a number of corporate and volunteer boards in Kansas City including the Blue Valley Center for Advanced Professional Studies, The Women's Foundation, Seven Days, The Jewish Community Foundation and Morningstar Communications.
